Rainbow – Client Branding Project
A fictitious brand I created and fully developed into a complete branding package.
Project Overview
As part of my Introduction to Graphic Design & Rich Media course at Pierce College (Fall 2023), I created a fictitious brand called Rainbow and developed its entire branding package from concept to final delivery.
The goal was to imagine a new business and translate its values into a visual identity system. I designed the logo, wordmark, color scheme, grayscale variations, and typography system, and compiled them into a professional brand package.
Tools & Skills Used
My Role
- Brand Conception: Conceived the Rainbow brand identity (fictional business concept, values, and target audience).
- Logo Design: Designed the logo and wordmark from sketches to polished vectors.
- System Development: Built the color palette (including grayscale versions) and typography system.
- Package Creation: Created the complete branding package, delivered as a professional presentation board.
Process
1. Concept Development
Defined Rainbow's mission and identity: inclusive, vibrant, and approachable.
2. Color & Typography Exploration
Chose a palette and typefaces that reflected joy, clarity, and adaptability.
3. Logo & Wordmark Creation
Explored multiple sketches, refined them in Illustrator, and finalized scalable versions.
4. Brand Package Delivery
Compiled all assets (logos, wordmark, typography rules, and color schemes) into a cohesive brand presentation.

Reflection & Outcome
Rainbow was a fictitious branding exercise, but it gave me hands-on experience in building a brand from the ground up. This project allowed me to practice concept creation, visual identity design, and packaging a full branding system.
It strengthened my ability to think like a brand designer — creating visuals that align with values, personality, and audience expectations. The final Rainbow package demonstrates my ability to deliver a scalable, consistent, and professional brand identity.
